West Brother's Transportation Services Wins Business Equity Award
West Brother's Transportation Services, Inc, a leading provider of long-term, dedicated contract carriage transportation services, won the Business Equity Award from the Business and Professional Women (BPW) organization. LaDonna Douglas, who was recently promoted to operations specialist at West Brother's Transportation Services, Inc., was at the ceremony to receive the award. The award is presented to a business within a local community that has made a significant contribution to the advancement of women in the workplace.
"I've noticed that West Brother's is definitely a special organization and I was very impressed when I visited their offices in Raleigh-Durham and observed how they treated their employees and even me as a visitor," said Suzanne Forshee, Franklin BPW president and sales analyst for PIC North America. "The trucking industry is a male-dominated industry but Craig West makes it clear that employees, regardless of background or gender, are offered a chance to learn and excel. This makes them a model in their industry and a beacon to other organizations in search of the highly skilled women in the marketplace today."
LaDonna Douglas works with West's dedicated contract carriage client PIC North America. Now that West has won the Franklin BPW Business Equity Award they will progress to the state-level competition.
"We're not like other trucking companies in many ways including how we hire, train and reward our associates for their hard work ," said Chief Executive Officer and owner of West Brother's Companies Craig West. "We're proud when the efforts of team members like La Donna are recognized. She has earned the right to accept this award because of her personal commitment to our Productivity In Motion tm culture."
