Transportation Award: Toyota Honors Ryder With 2006 Excellent Award For Value Improvement

Ryder System, Inc., a global leader in supply chain, warehousing and transportation management solutions, recently announced it was recognized as an "Excellent" supplier by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA). This award recognizes Ryder as a top North American supplier of logistics services for its commitment to meeting Toyota's high standards in value improvement for parts and materials in 2006. This is the second consecutive year Ryder has been honored with this award.

"Our suppliers must meet the very high standards and performance levels that contribute to the quality reputation for which Toyota is known," said Atsushi Kume, Senior Vice President of TEMA. "This award acknowledges their contribution to value improvement, which continually helps streamline our supply chain and drive efficiencies."

In 1987, Toyota selected Ryder as its first North American logistics provider for the Georgetown, Kentucky plant. Today, Ryder provides logistics services for Toyota at locations in California, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, as well as in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico.
