Theory Of Constraints Special Series
Many people only view the Theory Of Constraints (TOC) as a way to solve production-related issues. However, in today's environment, there are fewer people whose main concern is production oriented. Many industrial sector businesses are faced with a lack of demand. TOC can be applied to those issues that stem from the market or demand as the constraint. Being able to recognize the market as a constraint and the TOC as a solution to addressing that constraint will be one of the critical success factors that will be discussed in this series.
Although some have achieved tremendous returns from implementing TOC concepts and solutions, there is an overwhelming amount of people who have attempted to improve their productivity and responsiveness through the implementation of technology but who have not yielded the results others have been able to achieve. How big is this issue, and are there common themes that lead to disastrous results? We will examine this question and illustrate the common pitfalls to avoid with this series.
