SYSPRO Marks Major Milestone

SYSPRO, a producer of enterprise software, has announced a major milestone – the company's twenty-fifth anniversary.

In September 1978, Phil Duff, SYSPRO CEO, and his brother founded SYSPRO when they acquired the rights to a highly successful, multi-user financial distribution package to which they added integrated manufacturing software. In the ensuing twenty-five years, SYSPRO software has continually been enhanced with extensive functionality and leading-edge technology, as exemplified by more than 45 modules and most recently by the company's application of the Microsoft .NET architecture to achieve new levels of SYSPRO software utilization and interoperability.

"We took this core product and evolved it, as the markets have changed. We always made sure that there's an upgrade path. While our business is still effectively based around the same product, it has changed dramatically since the early days," states Duff, who says it is a source of pride that the SYSPRO organization - which now has five regional offices around the world and some 6,000 customers in total - has clients that have been with the company almost since its inception.

Duff attributes the company's ongoing success and growing market strength to "the continuity factor in terms of our staff and customers… we have one of the lowest rates of staff turnover in the business, with some of our key staff members having been with us 15 years or more."

"Our growth has always been organic, which is one of the reasons we have never had to lay off staff," he says. He believes that a key reason for the company's success is the fact that customer feedback continues to drive software functionality. "We develop software to fulfill customers' needs, to help them reduce costs and make better business decisions." Duff also credits the fact that SYSPRO has remained private. "We don't have to bow to the whims of shareholders or face the financial pressures of being a public entity."

Joey Benadretti, VP of Marketing for SYSPRO USA, notes, "SYSPRO continues to maintain a steady course in both technology and product, while the winds of change continue to blow through our industry with a hurricane force. While other companies merge or are acquired and lose their identities, SYSPRO remains an industry stalwart dedicated to serving customers and providing them with software on the leading edge of technology."
