Shipping Solution: Announcing INTTRA Desktop Shipping Order, The Offline, Multi-Carrier Solution For Simple And Fast Processing Of Electronic Shipping Orders And Shipping Instructions In China

INTTRA, one of the world's largest e-commerce platform for the ocean industry, recently introduced INTTRA Desktop Shipping Order 1.0 for cargo agents, enabling them to easily create and submit electronic shipping orders and shipping instructions to their carriers using a PC.

INTTRA enables all shippers and forwarders to reach all carriers, including those that are not members of INTTRA's connected network. With 23 of the world's largest ocean carriers as member carriers, INTTRA initiates more than 165,000 container orders a week and originates over $11 billion worth of ocean freight each year.

The introduction of Desktop Shipping Order follows the successful launch of INTTRA's industry-standard Shipping Order for INTTRA Link customers in China last year. From the initial release of Shipping Order in January of 2006, the number of containers processed in the region increased by more than 260%, signifying the value of e-commerce for streamlining transaction processes between cargo agents and their carriers.

"Building on this success, INTTRA recognized that cargo agents needed a desktop application that was simple and intuitive for their employees to use, but also offered the security, reliability, and ease of use that their organizations demand," said Charles Rowe, INTTRA's Product Manager, Desktop Solutions. "With INTTRA Desktop Shipping Order 1.0 we have incorporated these customer requirements and created a tool that enables them to use a PC to quickly connect with INTTRA's network of carriers," he added.

"It is very important for organizations doing business globally to have the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with their shipping partners. With Desktop SO and INTTRA's industry-standard shipping order message, cargo agents and carriers can all receive and share the information they need in the format their systems can use," said Tim Gannon, Vice President, INTTRA Product Development.

"When INTTRA introduced Shipping Order for INTTRA Link customers, it set a new standard for ocean logistics connectivity in China," said Bobby Lim, INTTRA's Managing Director for China and Korea. "I am delighted that now, as e-commerce becomes increasingly important to businesses of all sizes, we can introduce a sophisticated PC-based tool that addresses a real need of cargo agents to make the documentation process more convenient and easy to use."

In fact, Mr. Lim attributes INTTRA's customer growth in the region to offering, not only flexible e-tools, but also superior customer support, which includes providing local support and e-commerce expertise for carriers and customers. "In addition to introducing Desktop SO we are providing more local customer support and service in areas such as Qingdao and Xiamen. In this way we are making it easy for customers to adopt Desktop SO and receive the efficiencies of using the largest industry-standard e-commerce platform," he said.
