Scanco Announces Release Of Directed Picking Enhancement

Scanco LLC, Sage Software's Barcode Vendor of Choice for MAS 90/MAS 200 ERP and MAS 500 ERP, announces the release of their newest enhancement, RF Directed Picking. RF Directed Picking brings advanced picking and packing algorithms to small and mid-sized companies on a limited budget.

Distributors using MAS 90/MAS 200 can now be led through the picking and packing process by a handheld scanner. A wave of orders is selected and the picker is routed through the warehouse to ensure that each bin is only visited once and the entire pick is completed with one walk through the warehouse. Goods are then staged and scanned as they are packed to guarantee an accurate shipment. Shipping labels and invoices are created in MAS 90/MAS 200 ERP directly from the handheld scanner.

"Productivity will skyrocket," said Paul Heim, President and CEO of Scanco. "Instead of walking through the warehouse fifty times for fifty orders, they pick all fifty at once and get orders out the door with less manpower."

In regards to channel sales, Heim predicted, "This will open an entirely new market for the MAS 90/MAS 200 partner channel. Distributors are looking for robust warehousing capability at a reasonable cost. We believe we have brought that solution."
