Ryder Named 2007's "Top" Third-Party Logistics Provider By Inbound Logistics
Ryder System, Inc. a global leader in supply chain, warehousing and transportation management solutions, recently announced it has been named the Number-One third-party logistics (3PL) provider in the annual Inbound Logistics "Top Ten 3PL Excellence Awards." Ryder has been recognized by this leading publication as a top-five 3PL for ten consecutive years.
"Ryder provides the kinds of solutions that companies large and small rely on to solve the tactical logistics issues of serving customers better, faster, and more efficiently around the world," said Felecia Stratton, Editor of Inbound Logistics. "Ryder's industry-leading experience is complemented by its responsiveness in offering innovative solutions to drive process improvement and change for their customers. For those reasons, Ryder is being recognized as the number-one 3PL in Inbound Logistics' 2007 Top Ten 3PL survey."
In its annual survey, Inbound Logistics editors select the Top 100 3PLs from more than 500 companies and the publication's readers cast ballots to determine the Top Ten 3PLs. According to Inbound Logistics, nearly 4,000 readers - from transportation managers to CEOs, from small retailers to Fortune 10 companies -- cast votes to determine the Top Ten 3PLs in this year's list.
"Ryder is honored to be recognized as the top 3PL for 2007 and we are grateful to Inbound Logistics, our customers and peers for this honor," said Vicki O'Meara, President of U.S. Supply Chain Solutions for Ryder. "Over the past two decades we've refined our 3PL capabilities while serving, learning and growing with many of the best respected global manufacturing organizations. We've developed an accurate sense of who we are, what our core competencies are, and where we deliver the most value. Larger manufacturers continue to view us as partners for the future, and sophisticated medium-sized customers are relying on us to go to the next level."
