RF Code Project Wins Top European Supply Chain Award

RF Code Inc., a leading designer, developer, and manufacturer of active RFID technologies and Auto-ID data management software, today announced that it has been honored as the overall winner in the Supply Chain project category at the recent 2004 Information Management Awards. The awards ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, recognized the leading European information technology projects in categories including Knowledge Management, Mobile Information Management, B2B Commerce, B2C Commerce, Business Intelligence, and Supply Chain. The Information Management Awards are the premier European recognition of excellence and innovation in the management of business information.

The "RFID-Enabled, High-Visibility Supply Chain" project at pH Europe Ltd was the subject of the award, and the acknowledgement for the top prize was collectively shared by RF Code, pH Europe, and JDS Professional Services (an RF Code partner and the lead systems integrator on the project). U.K.-based pH Europe Ltd, a leading industrial container rental organization, launched a new RFID solution this year to monitor, track and consolidate data from their inventory of intermediate bulk containers (IBCs). The system features RF Code's TAVIS data management software and Mantis active RFID product suite. The TAVIS software leverages RFID tag data and GPS data to enable pH Europe to improve service quality to their customers, reduce transportation costs, institute activity-based billing programs and attain new levels of insight into their supply and demand chain processes.

"Previous winners of this award have all been massive projects featuring software technologies from very large companies," said Dr. Nissim Ozer, RF Code's CTO and architect of the TAVIS platform. "The fact that our TAVIS technology is being recognized in 2004 for its value beyond the RFID sector, and within the greater supply chain, shows that the industry is now beginning to understand the significance of hybrid identification networks."

The IM2003 Supply Chain winner was Deloitte's supply chain optimization program for DVD distribution on behalf of Universal Pictures International.

RF Code's TAVIS platform was also chosen as the winner of the RFID category at Forrester's Emerging Technology Showcase in December.

About the Information Management Awards
The IM Awards, now in their ninth year, are the most widely recognized symbols of excellence and innovation in the management of business information and knowledge. They are fiercely contested and highly valued within the IT and business world. They are a showcase for organizations that have demonstrated the vision and the business skills to implement new technology to reap real business benefits. There is from time to time a disproportionate amount of publicity given to unsuccessful projects. The awards clearly demonstrate that the business proposition for deploying new technology is very sound, as evidenced by the number of well-conceived and highly successful projects submitted as entries.

The awards attract entries from private sector companies ranging from Top 100 to startup companies to public sector bodies charged with implementing e-government directives. For more information, please visit www.im2004.elanconf.co.uk.
