Plex Systems' Mark Symonds Named Finalist In Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards

Award Acknowledgement of Significance in Industry

Auburn Hills, MI--(Marketwire) - Plex Systems, Inc., provider of the No. 1 rated manufacturing ERP software Plex Online, today announced that CEO and President Mark Symonds has been named a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, Michigan and Northwest Ohio region.

This award recognizes leaders who demonstrate extraordinary success in innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Finalists were selected by an independent panel of judges. Symonds will be honored with other finalists at a June 10 gala event at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dearborn, Mich. Award recipients will be named at that time.

Since becoming CEO and president of Plex Systems in 2006, Symonds has driven the company to dramatic growth. In 2009 alone, the company added 29 new customers. Its 2009 recurring revenue grew 31 percent over 2008, and its total revenue grew 14 percent. The company also improved its EBITDA profitability by 21 percent year over year. It ended the first quarter of 2010 with recurring revenue growth of 28 percent compared with the same quarter in 2009. Total revenues grew 18 percent.

Plex Systems had a solid customer base in the automotive industry, especially with precision metalformers, at the time Symonds joined the company. Symonds has led the company in diversifying to include customers in aerospace/defense, medical device manufacturing and food/beverage processing, all while driving user-driven enhancements that enable manufacturers from all industries to achieve measurable business improvements.

In April, the company expanded into a new building to accommodate its growing workforce.
