Success Story: Pepsi-Cola Distributor Significantly Reduces Costs And Improves Operations With The HighJump Suite Of Direct Store Delivery Solutions

Source: HighJump Software

Founded in 1895 in Boise, Idaho for the purpose of producing and selling soda water to area saloons, Nagel Beverage Company provides Pepsi-Cola products for the 18 southwestern counties of Idaho. Nagel Beverage has remained a Nagel family company for over 110 years. With revenues of $80 million, the company today employs nearly 200 people in all facets of manufacturing, sales and delivery. The organization operates two warehouses that distribute nearly 6 million cases annually via 37 conventional and 15 bulk routes each day.

Nagel Beverage wanted to bring a level of automation to its operations that would help it excel in an increasingly competitive marketplace. With the fight for shelf space more fierce than ever, the company wanted to arm its sales force with the information it needed to boost sales. Back at its warehouses, the company saw great potential to improve efficiency and accuracy within its operations. Workers were calculating pallet builds and truck load arrangements by hand, a time-consuming and error-prone process. In addition, Nagel needed to meet advance shipment notice (ASN) requirements mandated by some of its larger retail customers.

"When we looked at the software packages out there, it became clear that the whole HighJump Software suite is much more complete than anything we've ever seen," Vance Miller, vice president and CEO, Nagel Beverage. "It's important to us to have one software supplier for all of our distribution needs."
