|While Oracle's hostile takeover of PeopleSoft had everybody's attention for the past 18 months, it was by no means the only merger-and-acquisition activity in the ERP software space. Last week, privately held Infor Global Solutions acquired its 11th company in 26 months by announcing a definitive agreement to buy Mapics for about $350 million. Last fall, Infor added Lilly Software Associates to its stable. These acquisitions have grown Infor's global install base to 17,500 customers in more than 70 countries.
