Logistics Company: Daylight Transport Appoints Kacey Fallert As New President
Daylight Transport LLC, the expedited less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation and logistics company, has recently appointed Kacey Fallert to the position of president. This announcement was made recently by Richard Breen, chairman and CEO of Daylight Transport.
"Kacey comes to Daylight Transport with a long and highly successful career in the transportation industry," stated Breen, who founded Daylight Transport 30 years ago. "I am confident he will lead the company to new and exciting heights." Steve Vaughn, Daylight's outgoing president, will remain in the capacity of long-term consultant.
Fallert has more than 28 years of transportation industry experience. Most recently he held the position of vice president of operations at Con-way Freight-Western, a company where he worked and rose through the managerial ranks since 1990. He has a wealth of knowledge in management, sales, operations and human resources. Prior to that he worked for five years at Viking Freight System, where he steadily progressed through frontline management positions.
Fallert sees great opportunities ahead for Daylight Transport. "There is so much talent and opportunity here-this place is ready to explode," stated Fallert. "By leveraging the skills that currently exist and building on them, Daylight Transport will be the best provider with the smartest and most effective people in the expedited LTL marketplace. I'm excited to set the bar even higher and exceed all of Daylight's previous results. I see us doing this through communication, teamwork and discipline."
With an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University and a B.S. in Accounting from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Fallert believes in higher learning and dedicated hard work-something instilled in him since he was a member of the United States Marine Corps, from which he was honorably discharged. He began his transportation career as a dockworker and driver, and spent several years as an owner-operator and diesel wrecker operator in the Rocky Mountains. Fallert still holds his CDL to this day. He also spent a couple of years as an internal revenue agent for the IRS.
More about Daylight Transport
Daylight Transport is a privately held expedited LTL transportation and logistics company headquartered in Long Beach, California. The company was founded in 1977 originally as an air freight company before perfecting a ground-based network that currently competes with air freight networks, offering deferred air transit times at standard truck rates. Daylight provides transit times that are two to three working days faster than many of its LTL competitors and has one of the lowest claims ratios in the industry-averaging 0.6 percent of sales, roughly 1/3 of the industry average. Daylight offers two guarantees. The first is the free 5 Day guarantee, where freight will be delivered cross country in five business days or that move is absolutely free. The second is Daylight's Urgent Care Service, which guarantees delivery on the day promised or the invoice charges are waived. Daylight offers expedited LTL freight delivery across the U.S., and offers guaranteed time definite service in addition to air freight, volume, and truckload services nationally as well as full-service warehousing and logistics services in the California market. As one of Inbound Logistics' Top 100 Motor Carriers, Daylight Transport has approximately 400 employees. It has been named Los Angeles Business Journal's 100 fastest-growing companies four years in a row, as well as one of Los Angeles Business Journal's largest privately held companies numerous times.
