Learn To Make Smart IT Choices At IWLA's Information Technology Conference
A recent study by IWLA — The International Warehouse Logistics Association — found that 55 percent of third-party logistics (3PL) providers will increase their spending on WMS this year and one-third will spend more on TMS. To help such companies make informed purchases, IWLA has scheduled its annual Information Technology Conference for Sept. 8-9 in Chicago.
Themed "The Economics of IT," this two-day event will feature seasoned industry experts describing the latest in warehouse technology in all-new sessions. Presenters also will share ?war stories? about how to apply hi-tech strategies to real world situations and answer the sometimes elusive question: What is the TRUE revenue payback from IT investments?
"Our members have turned to technology and automation to give them the edge in an increasingly competitive 3PL marketplace. IT enables them to cut costs and provide the value-added service customers demand," said Linda Wood, IWLA director of education. "This conference will not only give 3PLs a look at the wide variety of technology solutions available to them, but also help them decide which technology is the most cost-effective for their particular situation."
Attendees will:
- Learn about the latest developments in WMS and TMS
- Discover where the IT revolution is headed
- View live demonstrations of how various technologies work
- See what's beyond WMS, including labor management technology, vendor managed inventory, telephony, security and office automation
- Learn lessons from the trenches on what to look for when purchasing and implementing a WMS
- Be able to set up personal appointments with a host of IT firms to have specific questions answered
