IQMS Customer Receives Supplier Recognition Award
IQMS, a leader in the design and development of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, congratulates its customer CEPS, Inc., on winning recognition from the New England Trade Adjustment Assistance Center. CEPS, a full-service injection mold maker, achieved recognition status for its phenomenal performance during a major program redesign that was undertaken as part of the company's ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles. NETAAC selected CEPS as New Hampshire's small company success story, and is anticipating Governor John Lynch to visit CEPS this fall.
In 2007, CEPS was also awarded a grant of $100,000 from NETAAC. As a U.S. Department of Commerce funded agency, NETAAC helps U.S. manufacturers competing against imports develop and implement a satisfactory plan to meet or overcome global competition given financial assistance. The use of grant funds are restricted to analysis and improvement projects, but cannot be applied toward any hardware purchases. Among other initiatives, CEPS purchased EnterpriseIQ LE from IQMS for its ERP software needs.
CEPS recently went through a major company-wide training in lean manufacturing principles, and assigned three lean teams that now meet regularly to identify and eliminate waste from the company's systems, processes and facility layout. The company's lean initiatives culminated in February 2008 with a week-long plant shutdown to reorganize and streamline the plant layout for work flow, storage and the creation of capacity for growth. Part of CEPS's continuous improvement efforts included the implementation and usage of IQMS's ERP software.
"CEPS fosters a culture of continuous improvement. That's why we needed a robust, reliable ERP system that would grow with us and help us implement and monitor certain of our lean initiatives," said Jim Umland, president of CEPS. "We looked at ERP software providers for over two years, and were initially drawn to IQMS because of their stellar reputation in the industry. EnterpriseIQ adds value across our entire supply chain and helps us stay true to our commitment to run lean."
"In today's demanding economy, lean manufacturing is growing more complex," explains Randy Flamm, president and founder of IQMS. "In order to remain competitive and successful, companies like CEPS must strategically optimize operations for efficiency and quality. EnterpriseIQ is proven best suited to help all types of manufacturers do just that by providing advanced and feature-rich solutions designed specifically for their niche industries. We are very proud of CEPS and all their achievements, and we look forward to helping them achieve even more recognition in the years to come."
