IDS Scheer Announces Expansion Of Partnership With Supply-Chain Council At Supply-Chain World Conference
IDS Scheer, the leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM), recently announced at Supply-Chain World North America it has expanded its relationship with the Supply-Chain Council (SCC) to provide performance measurement and management capabilities for SCOR metrics.
Under the recent agreement announced at ARIS ProcessWorld 2008 Americas, IDS Scheer is providing its ARIS Platform for the SCC to develop and maintain its different reference models and release new versions of the Supply-Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR), Customer-Chain Operations Reference Model (CCOR) and Design-Chain Operations Reference Model (DCOR) in a multi-user BPM repository. The ARIS Process Performance Manager (ARIS PPM) for SCOR will be one of the first solutions developed from critical knowledge created from the partnership, and will provide a platform for continuous improvement of supply chain processes supporting the SCOR metrics.
"We hear over and over about the disconnect between strategy and operational reality, and the throttling effect it has on business performance," said Allen Johnson, Director of Partners and Channels for IDS Scheer in North America. "The first phase of our partnership with SCC addressed the need to get the process house in order and build a common baseline off which to make that connection between strategy and operations. Now, we will provide an operational assurance platform of accountability maps, analytics, dashboards, and alerts linking those processes to SCOR metrics so the management team has command and control over its efforts to drive KPI improvement. Effectively, we'll give management a steering wheel to assure its business strategy through improved operational execution in the supply chain."
IDS Scheer recently previewed the newest version of its ARIS Platform – ARIS Business Performance Edition. Bolstering its products for the monitoring and controlling of business processes, the new version includes ARIS Process Performance Manager 4.1 (ARIS PPM), ARIS Performance Dashboard 4.1 and ARIS Process Event Monitor 1.1 (ARIS PEM). For the first time, these tools offer process-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) technology that leverages the ARIS Platform for strategic, tactical and management of daily operations — directly increasing the performance capability of business processes.
"We see great potential in taking our relationship with IDS Scheer to the next level as we provide support for their definition of process-centric solutions for operational measurement and alignment with the SCOR metrics," said Joe Francis, Chief Technology Officer, Supply-Chain Council. "Like IDS Scheer, we recognize that a focus on process and a structured approach to continuous improvement of process performance can have a huge impact on a company's business performance."
In addition to being a conference sponsor, IDS Scheer will be demonstrating the ARIS PPM with SCOR KPIs at Supply-Chain World North America. This event brings together the people who deliver and create value in the supply chain — especially those accountable for supply chain results — to learn the latest trends and research, network, and discover game-changing strategies for supply-chain management.
The SCC was incorporated in 1997 as a global, not-for-profit trade association. Membership is open to all companies interested in improving supply-chain efficiencies through the use of SCOR®, the supply-chain diagnostic tool that enables users to address, improve, and communicate supply-chain management practices within and between interested parties. SCC members include Fortune 500 companies from industries worldwide, consulting firms, computer systems and solutions providers, and educational and non-profit institutions. There are currently more than 800 corporate members.
