IBM And daly.commerce Complete First ISV Advantage Customer Implementations In North America

IBM and daly.commerce today announced three new customer implementations as a result of their collaboration in the ISV Advantage initiative. IBM's ISV Advantage program is designed to provide select ISVs with technical, marketing, and sales support to help meet the needs of medium-sized business customers across all vertical industries.

daly.commerce, a leading provider of fully integrated supply chain management (SCM) software, worked closely with IBM to integrate its Commerce Catalog product with IBM WebSphere Internet infrastructure software. Recognizing the difficulties that customers face managing catalog data -- whether for print or online storefronts -- the Commerce Catalog solution allows users to build online catalogs quickly and easily, and enables enhanced access to product information. daly.commerce customers who are already using the Commerce Catalog product have experienced enhanced efficiency and increased profits.

As one of the first companies to join the ISV Advantage program, daly.commerce has integrated IBM middleware into key areas of its application architecture.

"The ISV Advantage program gives us access to IBM's technical resources and enabled us to develop an open, scalable, secure application," said Carl Macedo, CTO, daly.commerce. Tom Connorton, VP Strategic Alliances, daly.commerce added, "Our customers recognize the value that we bring to them through our relationship with IBM, and we believe that working closely with IBM's marketing and sales teams helps to open doors to new markets and opportunities for us in the future."

Medium-sized business customers who are benefiting from the daly.commerce and IBM solution include:

JR Graham provides after-market parts and accessories to the Power Sports industry and began their search for the perfect catalog in an effort to stay ahead of the competition. Studies showed an exponential increase in online ordering, and JR Graham's customers were beginning to demand this capability. With over 50,000 items in their warehouse, catalog printing was a huge headache and prohibitively expensive. A long-time customer of daly.commerce's SCM suite, JR Graham chose the complementary, WebSphere-based Commerce Catalog as a foundation for their online enterprise. Activity on the JR Graham site is well within the goal range, and the company is experiencing increased order volume daily. While JR Graham cites increased sales, one of the most dramatic results has been the call volume decrease for placing orders and inquiring about status.

"Our immediate goal was to provide the user with our entire product line with real-time price and availability," said Jeff Graham,Vice President, JR Graham. "The first day we went live, Commerce Catalog provided our customers with 100% of our product line, interactive ordering, live status of their orders, and current pricing and availability with no manual intervention. We feel that we have taken a gigantic step forward this year."

Terminix International, based in Memphis, TN, is the largest termite and pest control company in the US. Since implementing the Commerce Catalog they have been able to save over four hours per day by eliminating manual entry of orders. The automated process has provided greater inventory control and accuracy. Though initially limited to internal replenishment, Terminix is planning to roll it out to their network of service centers.

Crest Industries -- Based in Fenton, MO, Crest Industries distributes automotive parts and supplies. Crest was originally working with another third party product but returned to daly.commerce's solution after struggling with catalog development. The Commerce Catalog's tight integration to their enterprise solution offers Crest more flexibility and control. Crest Industries has been using the product for two months and are already making tremendous progress.

"IBM is committed to providing our partners with the resources they need to better serve medium-sized business customers," said Buell Duncan, General Manager, ISV and Developer Relations, IBM. "As one of the first companies to join ISV Advantage, daly.commerce has successfully developed an open standards-based catalog management system that will continue to attract customers who want to automate their business processes and avoid being locked into a single platform."

As a part of the ISV Advantage initiative, ISVs work with IBM to port their applications to IBM WebSphere and IBM DB2 Universal Database, with a special focus on IBM WebSphere Express and IBM DB2 Express running on Linux. IBM also promotes ISV Advantage participants and helps expand their visibility in target industries through co-marketing and sales activities.
