Case Study: GeoPost And Intermec: 15 Years Of Efficient Collaboration

By Intermec, Inc.

Established in May 1999 in response to the desire to develop the express parcel delivery business outside France as a complement to its rapidly growing domestic business, GeoPost is a wholly-owned subsidiary of La Poste which now includes all its "express parcel" subsidiaries.

GeoPost is the leading express parcel delivery company in France and the second largest at a European level. The company has a strong presence in around thirty European countries, more than 20,000 employees, transports over 540 million parcels every year across 230 countries and has an annual turnover of more than €3 billion. Its business is growing with its subsidiaries in France (Chronopost and Exapaq), across Europe as DPD and outside Europe via DPD and numerous business partners.

Intermec and GeoPost have been working together in close collaboration since 1996. When looking for reliable and effective solutions to optimise and secure its activities both in France and overseas, GeoPost immediately turned to Intermec who were already one of the world leaders in mobile computing, automatic identification and printing technologies for barcode labels and automatic data capture.
