General Dynamics implements IFS business software

Two Massachusetts sites are live, two implementations in California are in progress

CHICAGO, Jan. 22, 2003 - Continuing its momentum in the defense industry, IFS announced today that two General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) business units have implemented IFS Applications(TM) for the Department of Defense. About 800 total users at the General Dynamics C4 Systems site in Taunton, Mass., and Network Systems site in Needham, Mass., are now using IFS Applications. Two Advanced Information Systems (AIS) sites-in Mountain View and Thousand Oaks, Calif.-are scheduled to go live in early 2003. These business units will use IFS' web-based components to manage functions throughout the entire supply chain management process, including manufacturing, procurement, project control and customer order processing.

The implementation was a collaborative effort of IFS, General Dynamics, and Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC), a global information technology services provider and strategic outsourcing partner for General Dynamics.

"Suppliers to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), such as General Dynamics, are an important vertical industry within the IFS customer base," said IFS North America president Terje Vangbo. "In addition to over 60 business components, IFS offers these organizations a complete package designed to meet the specific needs of companies doing business with the DoD."

In addition to General Dynamics, IFS' aviation and defense customers include GE Engine Services, Lockheed Martin, Gables Engineering, Kamatics, Derco Aerospace, BAE Systems, Eurofighter, SAAB Aerospace, and the Royal Norwegian Air Force.
