Nancy Gillis to join Ernst & Young LLP.
(PRWEB) - Ernst & Young LLP announced today the addition of Nancy Gillis to the firm’s Climate Change & Sustainability Services practice. Gillis is the newest sustainability professional to join the multidisciplinary team that leverages the firm’s core capabilities in assurance, tax, transactions and advisory to assist clients with their sustainability strategies.
Gillis will be a senior manager based in the Washington, D.C. area. Prior to joining Ernst & Young LLP, Gillis most recently served as the Director of the Federal Supply Chain Emissions Program Management Office in the US General Services Administration. There, she was responsible for leading initiatives to incentivize suppliers to the US government to reduce the environmental impacts within their operations and throughout their supply chains. In this capacity, Gillis drafted policy recommendations on the use of vendor sustainability criteria in federal procurements and launched a government-wide training program to teach federal acquisition staff relevant sustainability concepts. She also established an online public/private partnership program to share sustainability best practices and increase the competitiveness of small and medium businesses in various market sectors.
“We are thrilled that Nancy brings her federal supply chain, procurement policy and systems expertise to the EY team,” said Steve Starbuck, Americas Leader, Climate Change and Sustainability Services, for the global Ernst & Young organization. “Her knowledge of how governments and other institutional purchasers are leveraging their supplier relationships to decrease supply chain related inefficiencies and risks is unparalleled. She will offer tremendous value to our clients as they navigate their complex supply chains to increase market competitiveness.”
Throughout her career, Gillis has advised a diverse mix of public and private sector clients on additional system challenges including network security, ecosystem services and economic development. Gillis serves on the Advisory Board of the Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO) and Steering Committee for the Sustainable Purchasing Council.
