Distribution Packaging And Testing: Design For Distribution - Proven Methods For Reducing Costs And Damages Training Course Held At DDL Headquarters
DDL, Leader in Medical Device Package, Product and Material Testing, is hosting a Training Course for Equipment Reliability Institute, this fall at its Minnesota Location
Minneapolis, MN (PRWeb) -- Http://www.testedandproven.com/ -- DDL, the leader in medical device package, product and material testing, has confirmed that it will host a training course, presented by Equipment Reliability Institute, for industry professionals looking to minimize the costs of supply chain logistics through wiser product and packaging design and better test methods.
The three day program will focus on reducing the costs of package design and distribution. Key topics discussed during the three days include:
- Hazards of distributions
- Suggestions for test practices
- Why different problems occur in different places
- Products and components and the tradeoffs between packaging and better design
- Product designs that requires less packaging
- How to use this knowledge for better tests and designs
"The program, which is intended for packaging engineers, supply chain managers and product engineers, is designed to give attendees a better understanding of the costs and common design consequences behind their packaging decisions," Wayne Tustin, President of Equipment Reliability Institute, said.
The program will be presented by, Kevin Howard, a leading expert in the field of distribution packaging and testing. During his 17 years at Hewlett-Packard, Howard designed several new concepts that successfully combined the interests of packaging, product design, supply chain, procurement, customer assurance and testing into a unified approach that lands the lowest costs with the highest quality possible.
"I take pride in the depth and breadth of my packaging knowledge, supply chain logistics, material handling methodologies, and dynamics testing," Howard said.
"We are very excited to open our doors and give attendees an opportunity to expand their knowledge on distribution testing and package design," Scott Levy, Packaging Engineer at DDL said. "We are always eager to find ways to promote better practices within the package testing industry."
The training course, which is scheduled for Oct. 13 - 15, 2009, will be held at DDL's headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minn.

About Equipment Reliability Institute
ERI is a specialized engineering school. Our short courses focus on the reliability and durability of equipment ranging from satellites to aircraft to automobiles to telecom systems, to land vehicles and to submarines. One long-standing area has been vibration and shock testing to determine the effects of in-service environments. Now, with this new course, we focus on product design and packaging to economically survive the rigors of transport and storage.
