CSCMP SFRT President Honored — Retamal Launches New Year
The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) congratulates Mr. Sergio Retamal on being honored as "Executive of the Year" at the annual International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA) conference in Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Retamal is President of the CSCMP San Francisco Roundtable and an influential leader in international trade. He has directed the logistics and Customs compliance efforts of global leaders including Sun Microsystems, Micropolis Hard Disk Drives, Ryder Logistics and Cost Plus World Markets. He is credited with savings in excess of $22 Million during his career -- through aggressive negotiation and implementing efficient, innovative global SCM programs. The Bay Area World Trade Center recently recognized Retamal for his significant contribution to the import/export efficiency taskforce working with top Bay Area officials to reduce bottlenecks, port congestion and delays.
Retamal is an untiring advocate of 'shipper' involvement in SCM excellence, reflected in his personal leadership of the San Francisco CSCMP Roundtable, increasingly recognized for its programming caliber and networking value throughout the Bay Area. The organization kicks off the New Year under Retamal's leadership on Sept 21st with a Market Conditions Forum featuring SCM leaders from Ghirardelli Chocolate, Sun Microsystems, OOCL and the Executive Director of the Port of Oakland.
