CIBER And HighJump Software Streamline Inventory Management For Leading Packaging Provider
CIBER, Inc. (NYSE: CBR) and HighJump Software, a 3M company (NYSE: MMM), announced today that they have successfully implemented a supply chain execution solution for Quick Pak, the packaging services division of Multi-Color Corporation (Nasdaq: LABL) and a leading provider of promotional packaging, assembly, and fulfillment services. Quick Pak selected the combination of CIBER's implementation expertise and HighJump's Supply Chain Advantage Suite to manage inventory necessary for value-added services, final assembly, and product tracking at both of Quick Pak's Cincinnati facilities.
The implementation streamlines Quick Pak's receiving, put-away, picking, production, shipping, and work order operations. As a result of the implementation, the firm -- which operates 30 assembly lines per shift and performs 8,000 pallet transactions daily -- can now more efficiently release components necessary for assembly. The system's track and trace functionality also allows greater visibility to units shipped through lot control. Inventory can now be quickly located within a warehouse.
These inventory management improvements ensure continuous replenishment of production lines, prevent production interruptions that might delay shipments, and provide greater ability to perform efficient product recalls, if necessary.
"CIBER worked closely with our team to understand our requirements and tailor the system for our environment. As a result, we were able to implement the system very quickly," said Johan Pot, Vice President and General Manager of Quick Pak. "It is a highly efficient warehouse management and production control system that allows us to effectively track the thousands of components and customer products that we have in inventory and throughout the manufacturing cycle at any given time. This improves our turn-around times and supports our customers' overall objective of improving speed to market."
"The CIBER-HighJump partnership works extremely well as evidenced by the successful completion of the Quick Pak project," said Paul Robson, Vice President of Supply Chain for CIBER. "Quick Pak has a very impressive operation, and we look forward to working together on other projects that take advantage of our world class warehousing and logistics expertise."
"We're pleased that Quick Pak has accomplished many of its operational goals in such a short period of time," said Chris Heim, President of HighJump Software. "The combination of HighJump's uniquely flexible solutions and CIBER's deep industry knowledge has resulted in a truly advanced system that will ensure Quick Pak's competitive advantage going forward."
