Blue Sky Logistics Introduces Inventory Visibility Solution

Blue Sky Logistics, Inc., a real-time supply chain visibility dashboard and alerting software provider, has announced the introduction of an inventory visibility solution that will provide companies with centralized and timely access to information about inventory across their extended, disparate supply chain executional systems and organization. As the first software of its kind, the solution focuses on providing greater access to timely information about:

• Inventory quantities
• Inventory aging
• Historical and per period inventory movement
• Item/category/vendor demand Information
• Inbound order/supplier performance measurements
• Last cost, average cost, and value on hand financial data
• Inventory On hand, for recall tracking

Blue Sky Logistics' inventory visibility solution is a web-based application that stores current and historical inventory levels and demand information including a plug-in framework to push or pull data into the visibility database. This includes current adaptors for several of the top supply chain applications in the industry, plus homegrown applications. It is also a multi-user dashboard application that allows multiple shared or private views for different types of users.

The solution has been designed around a dashboard of instruments specific to visibility, which includes:

• Purchase advisory views for regional buyers
• Distribution center inventory views for DC managers/inventory control
• Global inventory views for corporate buyers/managers
• Historical supplier performance, inventory aging, held inventory for recall management
• Item category summary.

The solution will provide a wide range of data for companies to use, which include current quantity on-hand by region/DC down with details down to the individual container/pallet level; last cost, average cost, and value on hand financial data; item aging information by expiration date; historical quantity on hand; inventory on hold for recall purposes; quantity on order; historical inbound orders (for measuring supplier performance); and historical daily and weekly movement.
