Becton Dickinson Finds New Strategic Partner And Improves Distribution Center Operations
Client Challenge
Becton Dickinson is a medical technology company that provides products and services healthcare institutions, life sciences researchers, clinical laboratories and the general public. Becton Dickinson's strategic supply chain initiative started over 2 years ago when the decision was made to switch their global systems to SAP. Becton Dickinson realized that their current distribution center operations were in need of significant improvement in inventory and process accuracy and they were not getting the cooperation from the current provider. Their search for a strategic partner centered on the issues of people, process and technology.
Solution
The GENCO solution was to not only bring a dedicated project team to the implementation of their distribution operations but also to bring an experienced system's team to the project for the integration of our WMS (D-log) and preparing for a subsequent cut-over to SAP. Additionally, GENCO's core competencies and corporate culture were identically aligned with Becton Dickinson's. GENCO provided a realistic and structured approach to operations and systems timelines that conveyed a high level of integrity and trust. GENCO's senior team was activity engaged during the entire timeline of the project from start to finish. GENCO was committed to delivering the people, process and technology that the current provider could not.
