Case Study: Apparel Retailer Saves $154,000 In Store Transfer Costs

In the former process, store transfer details were downloaded to the store PC and printed on a laser printer. Items were retrieved from the sales floor and scanned through the point of sale. Items were walked to the back room and scanned again with a handheld scanner. The handheld scanner files were uploaded and a barcoded transfer sheet (packing slip) was printed.

The redundant scanning and uploading/ downloading required for this process delayed the adjustment of inventory.

With an RF-enabled Monarch® Pathfinder® Ultra® Platinum™ printer, the transfer details are displayed on the screen. After the items are retrieved, they are scanned with the Monarch Ultra Platinum and placed in a carton. A barcoded content label is printed by the Monarch Ultra Platinum and applied to the carton. Because the Monarch Ultra Platinum printer was connected directly to the Retailer's network, the inventory is adjusted immediately.
