Datasheet: Scrap Tracking & Management System

The Scrap Tracking and Management System (STMS), developed by WhereNet, part of Zebra Enterprise Solutions, is designed to streamline the non-conforming materials (NCM) processes at manufacturing facilities. STMS eliminates the manual paper tag process and replaces it with a real-time, highly visible scrap tracking and management tool that provides timely and accurate recording and reporting of scrap and vendor rejected materials. Typically, scrap and vendor rejected material are tagged with a hand written scrap or vendor reject tag which is entered into the material system at a later date. This manual process is slow, error prone and encumbered by lost and inaccurate tagging, resulting in inaccurate inventory records, excessive material loss, poor supplier cost recovery, and minimal rework savings.

STMS automates the non-conforming material management process with greater speed and accuracy, while providing improved visibility into to the status of work-in-process, therefore reducing the amount of scrap, balance on hand, freight costs and material loss. In addition, STMS improves labor productivity, supplier cost recovery and reporting capabilities, while providing accurate replacement orders and inventory levels.

STMS is highly configurable with fast deployment and all of the scrap and vendor reject material processes, as well as the rework process are supported within STMS' configurable NCM process flow.
