Description

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the current number of diabetes patients worldwide has reached 180 million, with 60 million in China alone. With research revealing that China spends 83.3 billion Yuan annually to treat diabetes, it has become critical to ensure that China is equipped with a sufficient supply of diabetes medication.

To enhance operational efficiencies, Novo Nordisk Tianjin Manufacturing Plant implemented an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and reviewed its warehouse management system. Investigations revealed that the effectiveness of the ERP system is directly influenced by warehouse management efficiency. There were too many workers clustered together during the work processes. It was apparent that a reliable and efficient automated data collection and recognition program was required.

The Novo Nordisk Tianjin Manufacturing Plant decided to deploy a Prism ERP system, while entrusting Intermec and its partner, Beijing Systron Technologies Co., Ltd., to design and supply a barcode supply chain solution to streamline its warehouse management processes.
