Fleet Management System Drives Savings

A fleet-wide implementation was completed in the summer of 2007. The project was managed by existing Fleet Services staff members, with the exception of the integration of odometer downloads, which were handled by the department's IT staff and the vendor. Because the system is Web-based and is accessed through secure, encrypted identification numbers, Fleet Services staff began using it immediately after the first few transponders were installed in vehicles.
