Daylight Transport Appoints Director Of Quality

Daylight Transport LLC, a leading expedited less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation and logistics company, has recently appointed Tanya Dinh to the position of director of quality. This announcement was made today by Kacey Fallert, president of Daylight Transport.

"Tanya is superbly qualified to elevate the levels of quality throughout the Daylight Transport organization," stated Fallert. "Our goal is to continue to find ways to make our service offerings even better for our customers. One way is by streamlining our processes."

In her new position, reporting directly to Fallert, Dinh will be responsible for improving the quality of each area of the company. Working closely with each of the company's officers, she will learn and assess all of Daylight Transport's current processes and solicit input to drive improvements.

Dinh most recently was properties manager and quality control supervisor for Con-way Freight Western (CWW) in Buena Park, California, where she managed quality processes and real estate properties. She worked closely with management to improve on-time service and productivity by driving compliance and efficiency within key critical processes. Dinh was the recipient of a CWW Quarterly Leader Award in 2005. She has 15 years of experience as a quality professional and has also worked with several other large manufacturing and service organizations, such as Eaton Corporation's Aerospace Division, Adams Rite Manufacturing Company, and Teletech Telecommunications, Inc.

A graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from California State Polytechnic University Pomona, Dinh has also earned advanced distinctions in the quality field, including her Black Belt certification in Six Sigma—a disciplined, results-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects and waste. In addition, she is certified as an ISO 9001 auditor.

More About Daylight Transport
Daylight Transport is a privately held expedited LTL transportation and logistics company headquartered in Long Beach, California. The company was founded in 1977 originally as an air freight company before perfecting a ground-based network that currently competes with air freight networks, offering deferred air transit times at standard truck rates. Daylight provides transit times that are two to three working days faster than many of its LTL competitors and has one of the lowest claims ratios in the industry—averaging 0.6 percent of sales, roughly one-third of the industry average. Daylight offers two guarantees. The first is the free 5 Day guarantee, where freight will be delivered cross country in five business days or that move is absolutely free. The second is Daylight's Urgent Care Service, which guarantees delivery on the day promised or the invoice charges are waived. Daylight offers expedited LTL freight delivery across the U.S., and offers guaranteed time definite service in addition to air freight, volume, and truckload services nationally as well as full-service warehousing and logistics services in the California market. As one of Inbound Logistics' Top 100 Motor Carriers, Daylight Transport has approximately 400 employees. It has been named Los Angeles Business Journal's 100 fastest-growing companies four years in a row, as well as one of Los Angeles Business Journal's largest privately held companies numerous times.
