Syscan Granted Supply Chain Excellence Award

Syscan International Inc. recently announced it has been recognized with a High Commendation in Information Management in the 2007 Australian Supply Chain & Logistics Awards. Given for one of Australia's most successful RFID applications, the 'Suncat' Inventory Management solution, 'Suncat' was jointly developed by BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance, Norwich Park, and Syscan International.

The Information Management Award is for significant achievement in the use of communications, information management, technology and e-business in any aspect of Logistics and Supply Chain management, with particular regard to the added value produced by the achievement.

According to Scott Austin, President, Syscan International Australasia "the ingenuity of the application has the potential to totally change inventory management. The Suncat System basically automates the issuance process by establishing Chain of Custody records of transactions through associating SAP generated work orders with the inventory removed from the warehouse." Mr Austin added, "The Suncat system has been running live since February 2007 and results to date are showing strong business benefits."

In other news, Syscan also announced today that at the Annual Meeting held on December 14 in Montreal, Messrs John McLernon (Chairman), Ayman Ashour, Matthew Rogers and Joseph Tassone were unanimously re-elected as Directors. "The Company is moving ahead and its new strategy is producing positive results as evidenced by our recently released Q1 2008 financial results. I am very pleased that such an experienced set of directors will continue to be there to guide the company forward," said Joseph Tassone, President and CEO. At the meeting, a new 10% Rolling Stock Option Plan was also approved and Harel-Drouin - PKF were reappointed as auditors for the 2008 fiscal year.
