The Next Generation Supply-Chain: Proactive Management Of Risk And Compliance
The Supply-Chain Council, a global not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to the enhancement of the supply chain, will organize on October 10-12 at the Sheraton Brussels its 2007 European conference. The focus will be put on Proactive Management of Risk and Compliance.
"We strongly feel that risk management is a critical topic for Supply chain managers today. Risks affecting the supply chain have an impact on the whole operation line of a company. It is crucial for supply chain managers to understand the risks they might face, and be better prepared to face them" says Douglas Kent, conference chairman and director of eKNOWtion.
Organized by supply chain specialists for supply chain professionals, this yearly two-day event has been highly praised for the outstanding quality of the education it delivers.
More than 200 supply chain professionals are expected to attend the 2007 edition and listen to prestigious keynote speakers such as Susanne Aigner (European Commission) on regulatory compliance, Jon Kihlman (Gärde Wesslau Advokatbyrå) on supplier disruption, Alan Waller (International Consultancy Solving International) on skills management and Dr. Umit Bititci (Strathclyde University) on outsourcing. These four themes will be further explored through parallel sessions, giving the opportunity to practitioners to present real business case studies. The programme will also feature some forum sessions to allow attendees to express their own views.
This year's program will also include two introductory sessions to SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference Model) and DCOR (Design Chain Operations Reference Model) for participants that are not yet familiar with the models developed by the Supply Chain Council.
Giving a strong focus on education, the conference will be preceded by 3 new parallel workshops on October 9-10: SCOR Framework, SCOR Implementation and DCOR Framework, each focusing on how best use the models to enhance one's supply chain.
