SupplyScape Fills ePedigree Compliance Prescription For Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing

October 19, 2007

SupplyScape Corporation, the leading provider of software to secure the safety and value of the pharmaceutical supply chain, recently announced that Global Pharmaceutical Sourcing (GPS) has implemented SupplyScape's E-Pedigree data management solution to securely trace drugs through the supply chain and comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, including California's electronic pedigree regulations.

"Our alliance with SupplyScape reflects our commitment to patient safety, product integrity and supply chain security," said Jesse M. Kessler, president and CEO of GPS. "E-Pedigree allows our trading partners to securely and automatically authenticate the pedigrees for all drug products, and it provides confidence to our providers that GPS distributes genuine products."

GPS is a rapidly growing wholesale distributor of pharmaceutical and biological products to more than four thousand hospital and healthcare institutions across North America. As part of its continuing efforts to fight counterfeiting and diversion, GPS partnered with SupplyScape to help secure its drug pipeline, reduce the time to process transactions and move GPS forward towards a more advanced and innovative supply chain management system.

"The data and transaction security provided by SupplyScape's EPCglobal Drug Pedigree Messaging Standard certified electronic pedigrees create a barrier against the increasing number of systemic attacks on the pharmaceutical supply chain," said Greg Cathcart, senior vice president of sales, marketing and services at SupplyScape. "Customer-focused companies, such as GPS, are stepping forward to protect their drug products with the most effective security mechanism available – EPCglobal ePedigrees."
