Case Study: Indykpol Group Gains Precise Control Of Goods Movement With Datalogic Skorpio™ Mobile Computers
By Datalogic Mobile
Indykpol Group, the major producer of meat and turkey preparations, implemented the ERP with the Datalogic Mobile barcode system. The new solution increased job productivity and allowed for the precise control over production parts right up until the sale of a product to the client.
Situation before implementation in Indykpol Group
Indykpol is a major Polish poultry company specializing in breeding, the commercial growing of turkeys, and turkey meat and processed goods production. It has a 25% share in this market segment. Indykpol has been a private company since it was established on December 2, 1991. Warsaw-based Rolmex SA has been the major shareholder and strategic investor since the beginning.
Indykpol has 20 Regional Distribution Centers (RDC) nationwide. Goods are delivered to these Centers and then distributed to wholesale warehouses and 10,000 shops. Before system implementation, the accepting and handing over of goods at RDC was conducted manually.
The project aimed at facilitating work processes and obtaining precise control over production batches at the Regional Distribution Centers (RDC) and Finished Goods Warehouses (FGW) by electronic handing over/accepting of goods using barcodes.
