Gottschalks' legacy compliance system was failing to capture a large majority of vendor compliance issues. The high cost of processing merchandise that did not conform to Gottschalks' vendor guidelines was not being recouped, which was adversely affecting the company's distribution costs. The solution provided immediate and actionable supply chain intelligence for monitoring and managing vendor compliance violations. More importantly to Gottschalks, rCMS was a self-funding supply chain solution that required minimal capital outlay and less than 200 IT man-hours to implement.
