It has become more and more popular to reserve tickets via the Internet. Nowadays we reserve tickets for cinema, sporting events, theater, etc. all online. Actor - Biljett/Kassa & Kontrollsystem i Sverige AB offers a ticketing and "box office" system for event organizers, which they now have developed even further. In order to simplify the process for both organizers and users, it is now possible not only to reserve the tickets, but also to pay for them and to print them at home. This means the user can go directly to the event entrance without having to collect the tickets from an agent.
This is a completely new system. It was developed from the end of 2006 to the beginning of 2007. There are now five arenas connected to this system, two of which are Kulturhuset in Stockholm and Gävle IF. There are already 20 arenas waiting to have the system installed, and after that Actor is hoping for many more. Actor sells their system to event organizers as a ready-made solution. This means that the organizer can sell tickets via the Internet without having to handle the back office administration. The system is very cost-effective and helps even smaller organizers to be able to sell tickets on-line.
