A manufacturer of outdoor clothing is required by many of their customers to attach individual item marking labels. These item labels are unique to the retailer that will stock the clothing, therefore they cannot be source marked during manufacturing.
This manufacturer printed item labels at a central location, transported the labels to the rework area, matched the proper stack of labels to the correct stack of items, peeled the label, attached it to the item, and then scanned the new label to complete the process. With over 6 million items worked per year, the company was looking for a more efficient process to mark individual items.
